Concierge Assessments for Autism, ADHD and Developmental Delays
Services Offered: Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism is not an illness, a disease, or caused by bad parenting. It is a lifelong developmental condition that affects the brain's functioning and has been linked to a child's genetic make up.
Autistic children often have persistent challenges with social communication and social interaction compared to their neurotypical peers.
This also includes a strong need for routine, highly focused or intense interests, and repetitive motions (like hand-flapping or rocking).
Autistic children may be overly sensitive (hypersensitive) or under-sensitive (hyposensitive) to lights, sounds, smells, textures, or tastes.
Many autistic children have significant strengths, such as strong attention to detail, excellent memory for facts, deep focus on specific topics, and a capacity for logic and visual learning.
